Discover Alderwood Dance Spectrum

Since Alderwood Dance Spectrum was established in 1981, we have served the communities of Lynnwood, Edmonds, Everett, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, Seattle, Shoreline, Bothell, Brier, Marysville, and Lake Stevens (South Snohomish County), and we continue our commitment to excellence in everything we do. Thousands of students have passed through our doors, and we’ve witnessed first-hand how dance can build character, confidence, and friendships. Dance has touched the hearts of many and helped them become well-rounded, happy, healthy, productive, and successful in life.

Most of the teachers on our faculty are alumni who trained with us as children, have continued their dance journeys, and now wish to share their passion and inspire a new generation of dancers. Many former students look back on their dance experiences fondly and are excited to bring their own children to take classes with us. Some dancers who danced with us as children are returning as adults to take classes again. What better endorsements of our ability to instill a lasting love of dance and to meaningfully impact lives?

Over the years, we have developed a variety of dance programs designed to meet the unique needs of every student, at every level. Whether you are a new dance parent looking for a fun, structured activity for your child or an adult wanting to re-kindle your love of dance, we welcome you to the Alderwood Dance Spectrum family. We will provide the highest caliber dance training in a friendly, inclusive, and supportive environment where together we will create memories from every experience.

Our Approach

We are committed to providing high quality, comprehensive dance instruction to students of all ages, backgrounds, and levels. We believe that everyone deserves exceptional dance training in technique and style and that it should be fun! While not all students will pursue a career in dance, the grace, artistry, discipline, confidence, and healthy habits they develop at Alderwood Dance Spectrum will remain with them and enhance their lives in years to come.

We want all students to be well-rounded and feel successful. Since everything starts with a strong foundation, we have designed our programs to introduce skills and concepts at age-appropriate levels as dancers develop proficiency and physical abilities. We offer several performance opportunities throughout the year and these experiences benefit students in many ways. Besides the fun, excitement, and confidence building thrill of performance, dancers learn to work as a team toward a goal; to focus, cooperate, and persevere. Friends and families can join in celebrating student’s accomplishments and talents.

The ADS Difference

Our Students

Dancers of all ages, shapes, backgrounds, and levels are welcomed to learn to dance and perform in a friendly, encouraging environment.

Our Classes

Our classes offer excellent instruction in a variety of dance forms and students acquire the technical background and skills necessary to enjoy dance, to progress, and to expand their dance experience.

Our Focus

Dancers learn and grow in many ways beyond the physical dance steps. Dance education teaches important individual and social life skills such as focus, perseverance, discipline, cooperation, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle.

Our Community

Our music, choreography, and costumes are age appropriate, and we promote a warm, inclusive atmosphere where our students and their families can experience the many ways dance can transform their lives.

Our Performances

We know how to put on a great show! Our performances are well organized, professionally presented, and above all, entertaining. We want to give every student the opportunity to experience the excitement of participating in a theatrical production and we want to delight our audiences. It’s important to us to encourage appreciation of performing arts in the community.

Recital

We know how to put on a Great Show. Apart from being well organized, short and sweet, and fast paced, our goal is to make it very entertaining.

What do twirling Snowflakes, a Nutcracker Prince, a mischievous Mouse King, and pig-tailed Bon Bons need to complete a ballet? A great storyteller! A Storybook Nutcracker uses brief narration to bring the story to life.
