Dance is a very physical activity which can put stress on bones and joints. Most dance footwear does not provide any cushioning or support, so the shock of landing can put pressure on a dancer’s ankles, knees, hips, and back. The best way to prevent potential injury is by choosing a studio with a professional “floating floor”. A floating floor is a dance floor that rests on a system of high-density resilient material. The floor, rather than the dancer’s body, absorbs the shock.
All of our dance rooms feature floating floors constructed of a double layer of resilient material over a foam rubber base. Our special floors help reduce the risk of injury and allow the students to dance longer without fatigue.
